Free load tracking spreadsheet template for freight brokers

In short

A load tracking sheet works when every row answers three questions at a glance: where was the truck last seen and when, will it make the delivery window, and does anyone need to do something. This spreadsheet has the columns for exactly that, a status column with six values that sort the board into what needs a person and what does not, and a legend sheet that defines them.

Template by LogiPilot · logipilot.ai/templates/load-tracking-sheet

The three example rows are a normal morning: one load on track, one at risk because the ETA is inside the last hour of its window, one unreachable after a text, a call and a retry. Sort by Status and the day's work is the top of the sheet.

A spreadsheet is fine at fifteen loads. At fifty, the check calls that fill the "Last check" column are a full-time job, which is what load tracking software is for. If you get there, LogiPilot Ping produces the same columns from the driver's taps and a short automated call, and the sheet becomes an exception list you did not have to fill in.

FAQ

Questions about the load tracking sheet template.

How often should the sheet be updated?

After every check: the morning of pickup, once or twice in transit, and before delivery, which is how often a broker checks on a load. The "Last check" column shows at a glance which loads have gone quiet.

What statuses should a load tracking sheet use?

Few, and meaningful: on track, at risk, late, unreachable, problem, delivered. Each one implies who acts. A sheet with twenty statuses is a sheet nobody sorts.
